LEVEL 2: AVALANCHE STATEMENT

Avalanche Forecast:

Avalanche activity above the road MAY OCCUR. Resulting avalanche debris reaching the road grade is POSSIBLE but NOT LIKELY.

Travel Advisory:

Through travel only in the JC Road corridor, do not stop vehicles.

It is recommended that any person operating equipment in the corridor wear an avalanche transceiver and have access to rescue equipment.

Snowpack and Weather Summary:

As the JC Road corridor snowpack transitions once again into an extended melt freeze cycle and with precipitation at times falling as rain, small wet loose natural avalanche activity has been observed above the roadway. Activity will continue through the week with above average daytime temperatures expected and light rain making a return later in the week.

Precipitation will slowly leave the area as high pressure moves in from the west, bringing with it above average daytime temperatures. Wednesday night and into Thursday marks the return to an active weather pattern for the area as precipitation and colder temperatures make their way back into the region.
