Expires: 04/15/24 at 0559hrs

Rating:

LEVEL 2: AVALANCHE STATEMENT

Avalanche Forecast:

Avalanche activity above the road MAY OCCUR. Resulting avalanche debris reaching the road grade is POSSIBLE but NOT LIKELY.

Travel Advisory:

Through travel only in the JC Road corridor, do not stop vehicles.

It is recommended that any person operating equipment in the corridor wear an avalanche transceiver and have access to rescue equipment.

Snowpack and Weather Summary:

Snowpack assessments and stability test performed in the JC Road corridor on Monday April 8th, continue to show an increase in cohesiveness between layers within the snowpack. As the snowpack continues through a diurnal cycle (aka Melt Freeze) it may slowly melt down. With warmer daytime temperatures and potential rain forecasted for the weekend ahead, the avalanche hazard rating has been raised to LEVEL 2.

Through the weekend temperatures will be above average for this time of year. Expect scattered showers and possibly a roll or two of thunder this afternoon and again on Sunday April 14th.
