Weather and Snowpack Summary:

As noted previously, the snowpack adjacent to the JC Road has undergone numerous melt freeze cycles. This has created a cohesive, strong slab in the upper portion of the snowpack while the lower portion remains weak.

The snowpack can be described as having a poor structure yet is stable at this time.

The weather forecast for the week ahead shows above normal daytime temperatures with below freezing temperatures every night. Precipitation will return to the area Thursday night and into the day Friday, while a more robust system may impact the area this upcoming weekend. As the melt freeze cycle continues it will help the strength of the snowpack in the long term.
